Modern lines, colored to match, dining table fits beautifully in this new construction home. Matching chairs bring out the smart cuts on the tables’ apron and legs.
This age-old classic set shines from the french door sun. Like jeans, farmhouse sets never go out of style. This pine set had been painted, warn, and was all but given up for dead. After an exploratory strip of part of the table, we knew this set was going to not only be brought to life, but become the center piece of daily use in a beautiful kitchen.
Originally stained and finished in uniform 90’s cherry, this kitchen has been simply primed and painted in satin ‘super white’ (a Benjamin Moore color as the guide) as part of the preparation for this Lakeview condo to be sold. Painting older kitchens is a fraction of the cost, and straightforward quick way to update an older home.
Grey Kitchen Table Set
Scandinavian manufactured set and shipped here, after many years of use it needed refinishing. The Wood Wizzard gave it the grey modern touch and fresh life for another decade or more for daily enjoyment.
Natural Bedroom Set
Four generations of this family have used this bedroom set which includes adjustable mirror and make-up vanity. Years and layers of finish have been wiped clean giving new life for generations to come. Matching the floor of the home was a bonus!
Custom Built Bookcase and Mantel Surround
We thoroughly enjoyed building this surround and bookcase for a family in Glenview, IL. They helped design the style and layout of the unit, and selected classic ‘super-white’ that elevated the energy in the room.
Side Chair & Vanity Bench
This ornate pair of chairs date back around a century. We completely refinished them to match their original manufacturers design. The customer selected the eye popping tight red/white stripe upholstery which also draws from early 20th century decor.
Modern Dining Table Stained Black
Styling that belongs in NorthShore Magazine, this Glenview home’s dining room is a welcoming space for fine meals, or simply a gathering of games or cards. The round table was stained and toned black to give modern grace while still keeping the beauty of the grain present. Modern fabric contrasts while table while accenting the room’s decor.
Duncan Phyfe Style Dining Set
This semi-ornate Duncan Phyfe style dining set is a great example of mahogany’s appeal. This particular Phyfe-mirrored set has ornate chair-back designs to contrast the simple fluting in the table’s apron and bases. A small, yet effective, bordered inlay on the table’s edge frames the strong color and grain of the wood. The two extensions, or leaves, are not pictured.
After carefully protecting the entire kitchen, surrounding areas, and appliances, this kitchen isle top was complete refinished on-site. Stripped away of coffee rings, heat blush, nicks & scratches, the beautiful wood revealed it self. Wanting a contrast to the light wood sealing, and looking to minimize exposure of future use, a darker lush tone was used before final sealer and top coats were applied.
Pine Dining Table
As part of life, we move homes. This is the perfect opportunity for The Wood Wizzard to upgrade your existing furniture and customize it for the new home. This couple took an old, warn, 70’s almost painted dark brown table into a new era of their lives. Now leaning natural, exposing the diversity in grain tone, while also coloring the top enough to match the chairs, this table is ready for many a dinner party, weekend brunches, or as a work-from-home break room table.
Round Dining Table
Cross grain veneer in a deep coffee bean tone makes this dining room into a classic feel with modern flourishes. Inviting and warm, the chair’s fabric create a balance against the browns and blacks.
Ultra Black Dining Set
This full set of china, buffet, chairs, table and leaves, were given a whole new life and purpose with the ultra-black look. Combined with the blue fabric, the black contrasts the floors and walls to create a welcoming yet elegant feel.
Mahogany Drawer Fronts
These are the faces to a hundred year old (at least!) bedroom chest. The client elected to go true natural, giving The Wood Wizzard’s craftsmanship the chance to be seen in a completely unfiltered, unstained, pure natural way. The chatoyance, or ripples in the grain are brought out through layers of hand sanding, bringing mother nature’s beauty out. The durable top coat can barely be seen in the picture, as it was taken in sunlight.
Bench Gone Grey
Simple pew-style pine bench, originally country style and natural has been customized and done in modern grey. Original handles can still be seen, creating a cross generational influence to the piece.
I want a table, and I want it painted black.
Wrought iron chairs surround this farmhouse pine table. What was once natural with lots of character, has become a solid painted black kitchen table, ready for daily use.
Not just a Stone’s hit, it applies to the possibilities for your projects. The Wood Wizzard finish is fit for paint or wood tones.
